How we work, and why it matters
Home repair is one of the areas where older homeowners get treated worst — vague pricing, pressure to decide on the spot, and work recommended that was never needed. We have built this business the opposite way round, and the clearest evidence of that is the published rate card. Thirty-one jobs, real numbers, on the website where anyone can check them before picking up the phone.
Three things we commit to on every visit: identification shown at the door without being asked, the price agreed before any work starts, and nothing paid until the job is finished and you are satisfied with it.

Grab bars & bathroom safety
Anchored into structure and load-tested in front of you. Never into drywall plugs.

Doors that stick or won't latch
A door that needs shoving is a fall risk. Usually a hinge or strike adjustment, done in under an hour.

Taps, toilets & running water
Stiff handles, drips and running toilets. Lever taps are easier on arthritic hands than knobs.

Black or peeling sealant lets water reach the floor structure. A cheap job that prevents an expensive one.

Questions we get asked
Do you charge more for small jobs?
No, and small jobs are often the whole visit. A tap swap is a flat $115. A door adjustment is $115–$220. What we would encourage is grouping — if there are four small things around the house, one visit handles all of them and costs far less than four separate calls.
Will you show identification?
Always, without being asked. You should never let anyone into your home who cannot show you who they are, and you should feel comfortable saying no if anything feels off — including to us.
Do I have to pay anything before the work is done?
No. We do not ask for deposits on standard handyman work, and we do not ask for cash up front. You see the price before we start and you pay once the job is finished and you are happy with it.
Can a family member arrange this on my behalf?
Yes, and it is common. We are happy to speak with an adult child or a caregiver about scope and price, confirm the appointment with whoever is at home, and follow up afterwards. Just tell us who to talk to about what.
How high should a grab bar be installed?
It depends on the person, not the bathroom. We ask who is using it, which side they lead with, and watch how they get in and out — then set the height and angle to that. A bar at a standard height that is wrong for you is not much use.
Are grab bars safe in a tiled wall?
Yes, when they are anchored into framing or a load-rated system, and the tile is drilled properly and sealed. What is not safe is a bar fixed into drywall plugs. We load-test every bar with full body weight in front of you before leaving.
