The tap drips or the handle has gone stiff
Cartridge replacement on most modern faucets, and cheaper than a new tap. On older units where parts are discontinued, replacement is the honest answer.
You have bought a new faucet and need it fitted
The straightforward version. Old unit out, supply lines replaced rather than reused, new unit set and tested under pressure.
The shut-off valve under the sink will not turn
Very common, and it is the reason a simple job sometimes becomes a bigger one. Seized valves get replaced — which needs the main off briefly — and that gets flagged in the quote, not discovered halfway.
The toilet runs constantly
Flapper or fill valve, both inexpensive. Worth fixing quickly; a running toilet is a measurable amount of water.
The toilet rocks or leaks at the base
Failed wax ring, loose flange bolts, or an uneven floor. The toilet gets pulled, the flange inspected, a new ring set and the base shimmed and sealed properly.

Do I need a licensed plumber to change a faucet?
No. Swapping a fixture on existing supply lines is not licensed work in Ontario. Anything altering the supply system itself — moving lines, main stack work, new rough-in — is, and it goes to a licensed plumber.
Should I buy the faucet or should you?
Buy it yourself and you will pay less. We will tell you what to look for — mostly cartridge availability, which decides whether the tap is repairable in five years.
How long does a toilet install take?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes for a straight replacement. Longer if the flange is damaged or the floor is uneven, both of which get flagged before we start.
