Most of it is genuinely simple; what makes the difference is building square, catching a reversed panel before it is cammed shut, and anchoring anything tall to the wall — which is the step the instructions mention and almost nobody does.

A tall unit needs wall anchoring
Wardrobes, bookcases and dressers tip. The anti-tip strap in the box only works if it reaches framing, and finding framing behind the exact spot the unit sits is the actual skill.
Panels were assembled in the wrong order
Cam locks are forgiving once. Twice and the hole strips. Partially built furniture is often salvageable and we would rather be called before it is fully wrong.
The unit is out of square and the doors will not sit right
Almost always the back panel — pinned before the carcass was squared. It gets pulled, squared and re-pinned, and the doors line up.
Missing or damaged hardware
We carry generic cams, dowels and fasteners that cover most of what goes missing. Proprietary parts still need ordering.
The floor is not level
Very common in older Ottawa houses. Levelling feet or shims, set to the floor rather than to hope.

What it costs
Small items are $100–$145. Wardrobes and large storage units run $170–$215. A whole room of furniture in one visit is quoted as a package and works out substantially cheaper per piece.

Do you take the packaging away?
We break it down and stack it flat for your recycling. Full removal is possible but that is a disposal run and it gets quoted separately.
Can you assemble furniture I bought second-hand?
Yes, though missing hardware is more likely and instructions often are not available. We will tell you upfront if it looks like a part order is coming.
Will you anchor it to the wall?
Always, on anything tall enough to tip — included, not extra. If the wall behind it is masonry or there is no framing where the unit sits, we will use appropriate anchors and tell you what went in.
